Ambiance festive, un peu alternative ce weekend sur la Place Willems : les Winter Pop-ups, événements satellites des Plaisirs d’hiver du centre-ville, se sont installés à Laeken. Certes, on aurait plutôt rêvé d’un Marché de Noël au Parvis Notre Dame, ou encore d’une patinoire sur la Place Bockstael, mais la magie passe aussi par cette petite sœur un peu cachée des places plus connues de Laeken – et l’effet est en effet magique !
Tentes colorées, foodtrucks, jongleurs et magiciens du feu – et parmi eux le bar de Laeken.Brussels. Les petits sont fascinés par nos bracelets fluorescents et l’ambiance créée par la glace carbonique, tandis que les grands sont plutôt attirés par le punch d’hiver, le Glühwein maison (merci à Stijn !) et le genièvre que nous avons préparés à notre Laeken pop-up bar.

Adjoining the Royal Estate, opposite the Church of our Lady of Laeken with its cemetery, the Square of the 21 July does not only commemorate the Belgian national day, but is above all dedicated to the memory of Queen Astrid, tragically lost in a car accident in 1935.
A statue of the queen was placed in the rotunda of the remarkable monument with its neoclassical colonnades.

Set between the Royal castle and the Atomium, the Park of Laeken offers magnificent views: from the Dynasty Monument you can see the skyline of Brussels and from the middle of the Park, close to the American Theatre, you can picnic with a view at the Atomium. The park is part of the Royal Trust.

Located close to the Bockstael metro station – exit Rue des artistes – this little pub offers one of the best coffees (Delta) in the neighbourhood on the way to the Serres Royales or to the Atomium.
