In addition to the organic market, which opens its doors on May 14, BE-HERE will host a purchasing centre, a social enterprise, a brewery … and many other projects related to food,  but also cultural production and different services for residents of the area.

The general public will be able to discover these workshops and the organic market during the official opening party on May 19, during which several activities will be proposed: zero waste cooking workshops for the whole family, foodtrucks, juggling initiations, a bookswap, a kids corner and musical entertainment.

Very soon, neighbors and friends will be able to meet in the big hall under the glass roof in BE-HERE to shop at the organic market, or to discover new products or even taste the local productions.

BE-HERE is therefore not just a renovated building, but a new meeting point where history, local creativity and sustainable consumption come together. By giving this former industrial site a second life, the project aims to strengthen the social fabric of Laeken and offer residents a lively, accessible and inspiring place to gather, exchange ideas and support local initiatives.

Er werd gevraagd om het station proper te maken en het te onderhouden.

Er werd gevraagd om de sociale controle aan te scherpen via kleine uitstallingen/kiosken.

Er werd gevraagd om het overdekte deel op te luisteren met afbeeldingen van bezienswaardigheden in Laken of met artistieke werken (foto’s van Lakenaars, straat art, …)

Er werd gevraagd om de bermen te kuisen en op te fleuren met een bloemenweide, wat de biodiversiteit – waar Infrabel voor staat – ook ten goede zou komen.

Er werd gevraagd om de naam van dit station om te vormen in ‘Laken’.

Omdat dit intussen stil heeft gelegen is Laeken.Brussels nogmaals in de pen gekropen om te vragen dat actie wordt ondernomen.

We hebben tevens aangegeven dat we graag (en hopelijk ook nog een aantal andere bewoners) een helpende hand bieden om de berm op te kuisen en op te fleuren, mits ons een budget wordt gegeven.

Nu is het afwachten op een positieve respons.

Nous leur avons ainsi demandé quelles étaient pour eux les thématiques les plus importantes dans la perspective du prochain scrutin communal.

Voici le classement des thématiques les plus importantes pour Laeken, selon 100 participants tout rond…

• Propreté publique – 56 %
• Lutte contre les incivilités – 45 %
• Mobilité et sécurité routière – 44 %
• Sécurité et prévention – 42 %
• Nuisances sonores – 28 %
• Bonne gouvernance et participation citoyenne – 26 %
• Pollution de l’air – 24 %
• Commerce et emploi – 18 %
• Protection du patrimoine – 13 %

Parmi les autres thèmes évoqués par les participants au sondage, la problématique du stationnement (illégal) est plusieurs fois citée.

Ce sont donc avant tout des aspects de la vie quotidienne en ville qui sont mis en avant par les Laekenois. Ces problématiques connues depuis des années méritent une attention et une action renforcées des pouvoirs publics bruxellois, de même qu’une responsabilisation accrue du citoyen !

Cela doit aussi être le cas à Laeken, car comme l’a montré – de manière certes ludique – notre premier sondage, 93 % des Laekenois (106 participants) estiment que la Ville de Bruxelles n’accorde pas suffisamment d’importance au territoire laekenois et ne sont pas suffisamment à l’écoute de ses habitants.
